A young funeral director finds his calling
It's always heartwarming to see the next generation discovering the rewards of a career in funeral service!
At just 18 years old, James Madden has found his calling in an industry that many young people may never have considered. Working with our member firm, Harbour City Funeral Home, Wellington, James is helping to shine a positive light on funeral directing and the meaningful difference funeral professionals make in people's lives.
His story is a wonderful reminder that funeral directing is so much more than a job — it's a career built on compassion, care, respect and supporting families when they need it most.
We're delighted to see James and Harbour City Funerals featured in this lovely RNZ story. It's fantastic recognition for our profession and an inspiring example of the opportunities available to young people considering a career in funeral service.
